IPP Inspires Local Work!

International People's Project seems to becoming a new tradition in the Detroit, USA chapter. In 2001, we hosted an IPP that studied poverty in the urban setting in the city of Detroit. During that project, one of the delegates from Costa Rica said, "You Americans don't really have any idea what real poverty is. You should come see the way the poor in my country live." He was right, of course. There was no way for urban Detroiters to understand how most of the world's poor live. So, we took that as a challenge, and decided to try to find out.
